Jeffrey R. Nau was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He has a master's degree in anthropology from Western Michigan University. Of the four main sub-fields of Anthropology, his concentration is in Archaeology. J.R. Nau is currently working on several epic fantasy and science-fiction novels that apply anthropology to the world building. He is also a hobby blacksmith and was the newsletter editor for the Western Reserve Artist Blacksmith Association for six years. He volunteers at a local museum. Other projects include developing archaeology simulations and virtual reality museum experiences using video game technology. Recently, he has begun incorporating narratives and themes from his stories into music, which can be found on all major music streaming platforms under the name Melodic Dracan.
